The Neuroscience of memory
By Henna Adalat
Vision Behind this Project
Memory is a fundamental part of everyday life, shaping how we learn, think, and interact with the world. As a student and Psychology major, I have always been interested in understanding how the brain learns and remembers information. This project explores the neuroscience of memory through a collection of research, interactive experiences, and creative projects. My goal is to make memory science useful for students who want to better understand their own learning process

The process of memory
1
Encoding
Encoding is the process of taking new information and turning it into a form the brain process and store. This happens when you read a book, listen to a lecture, or even experience something new.
2
Storage
Once information has bene encoded, it is stored within the networks of neurons in your brain. Some memories can be held for a brief amount of time while others can last for years. Sleep, good connections, and repetition can help make memories stronger.
3
Retrieval
Retrieval is the process of accessing stored information when it is needed for use. When your remembering a childhood memory or answering questions on a test, this is all through the retrieval process. It allows past information to be brought back into conscious awareness.
